Judy Benitez Takes and Defends the Tawag Ng Tanghalan Golden Microphone

Manila, Philippines - On September 11, 2023, Judy Lou Benitez (Artist Name: Judy Benitez) becomes the daily winner of the Tawag Ng Tanghalan (TNT) amateur singing competition, airing as a segment of the It's Showtime show run by ABS-CBN and GMA Networks. As a daily winner, Judy Benitez receives 10,000 pesos in cash prize and will need to defend the golden microphone in a certain number of times in order to stay in the competition and qualifies into the semi-finals later in the year. Each day she wins the daily contest, she receives an additional 10,000 pesos in cash prize.

There are a lot at stake in this competition for Judy Lou.

First, as a singer, songwriter and a band vocalist, Judy Benitez dreamed for this moment. Previously, she auditioned 3 times but never got a call from the producers. Finally, she makes it to this competition and takes the golden microphone. As of the date of this publication, Judy Benitez has won 2 face-off rounds and has defended the golden microphone twice.

​I am an emerging versatile singer from the southern region of the Philippines. I discovered my love for music at a young age and I expressed them by joining in different Songwriting and Singing competitions. 

I am a lover of pop rock and soul types of music. My debut single entitled "I Am A Possibility" showcases my passion and a little bit of my style as a musician. It also inspires me to continue to step up and always create that possibility and continue to reach for that dream.

Very recently I reached my dream by becoming the daily winner and the defending champion of the Tawag Ng Tanghalan national singing competition of It’s Showtime noontime show of abs-cbn. In my performances I received multiple standing ovations from the judges. I also left a very respectable judge Sir Ogie Alcasid teary-eyed during one of my performances.

I am humbled and at the same time proud of what I have accomplished so far. And I believe that God has a bigger and wider plan for me. And that the best is yet to come.
